If I place an order how long does delivery take?

If you order within Southern California delivery time is usually 2-3 days.  If using a standard freight shipping our average delivery time is currently running 5-9 business days.

Do I have to be present for the delivery?

Yes, you have to sign the shipping papers and check your order. Before signing the delivery driver's paperwork, inspect the shipment for any shipping damage that may have occurred.

Is my information safe on your website?

Yes, our website is secure and we never sell or give any personal information to anyone.

Can I change my order once I placed it?

You should call immediately to inquire if your order has been processed.  Any changes must be made within 24 hours of ordering.

Can I order by phone?

Yes! To order by phone, call Floortastic at 1-800-569-3901 during normal business hours, Monday through Saturday 9:00 am- 5:00 pm PST.

Do I have to put an underlayment under my laminate? Why?

An underlayment must be installed under laminate floors as it serves three purposes 1. It acts as a cushion between the subfloor and the laminate, 2. The underlayment is a moisture barrier to prevent any unwanted moisture from coming thru the subfloor, and 3.The underlayment is also a noise reducer/sound suppressor.

If I decide not to install the flooring myself, do you install?

Floortastic does offer installation services to customers in the Inland Empire, Riverside, and Orange Counties.  If you are outside these areas flooring installers can be found in various yellow page listings.

Are your laminate/hardwood flooring trims exact match or just coordinating colors?

The laminate/hardwood flooring trims we offer are exact match trims. They are made of the same color patterns that the floors are.

Are your floors in stock?

Yes, for the most part all our products are in stock. However if an item is not in stock because it is a hot item you will be contacted immediately and informed what the estimated arrival date will be.  It is best to call and check stock on material prior to purchasing due to our high turn around.

What is the difference between 8mm laminate & 12mm laminate floors?

Laminate floors are measured in the actual thickness of the floor 8mm is roughly .315 inches & 12mm .4724 inches in thickness. 12mm laminates tend to dampen/absorb sound a little better than 8mm, and also come in a larger variety such as hand scraped distressed, chiseled, pressed edge, or beveled edge.

Can you glue down a solid hardwood to a concrete subfloor?

No, you cannot glue down the solid floors directly onto concrete.  It is recommended that you apply a 3/4" plywood onto the concrete and nail the solid hardwood onto the plywood, but you must keep in mind that will raise your floor quite a bit.  For concrete application it is recommended that you apply an engineered wood as it is designed to be much more stable and can be glued directly to concrete. 

Are hand-scraped laminate floors really hand scraped?

As the flooring industry finds new and innovative ways offer better, more durable products at affordable prices they perfect their manufacturing methods. To make a 12mm distressed laminate the core board is scrapped and edges beveled prior to applying the decorative wood looking laminate layer. They then press the decorative layer into the hand-scraped core board creating a realistic looking hand-scraped laminate floor. This is the latest technique in adding realism to laminate floors.

Can I install the laminate floor on my stair case?

We carry a complete line of mouldings to match the floors perfectly, including stair nose trim pieces so that you can install the laminate on your stairs.

How often do you have sales or specials?

Our prices are sales and specials are often dictated by the quantity of inventory we have in stock. If we are overstocked we run pallet quantity promotions on our products. Pallet promotions are discounts on higher quantity orders and are not always guaranteed available. You might also want to call just in case we have a discount promotion that might not be on our website.

Do you offer sample pieces?

Yes, we charge only $.90 per sample piece. We do not charge for shipping but we do limit the samples to 3 sample colors per residence. They usually are processed within 24 hours after ordering and are shipped via USPS.

Do you offer financing?

No, we currently do not offer financing at this time.

Do you accept credit cards?

Yes, we do accept all major credit cards.

What is an AC rating?

The AC Rating designates a laminate product into a level based on its application and durability. The laminate is divided into 2 groups: residential and commercial. The laminate is then divided into traffic intensity levels: moderate, general, or heavy.
AC1: Residential, Moderate Traffic: Suitable for bedrooms or guest rooms.
AC2: Residential, General Traffic: Suitable for living rooms and dining rooms.
AC3: Commercial, Heavy Traffic: Suitable for all areas.
AC4: Commercial, General Traffic: Office, Boutique, Café.
AC5: Commercial, Heavy Traffic: Public buildings, Department stores.

What is your warranty on the material?

All warranties are solely with the product’s manufacturer and not with us. We do not warranty or guarantee the product, as any warrantees or guarantees are with the manufacturer of the product. If you feel you have a claim, contact the manufacturer directly as instructed in the reading material provided with the product. We can provide that information if needed.

How do I measure my room for wood flooring?

See the "how to measure" link located on all product pages to get detailed information on how to properly measure your room(s).

Do you carry the Pergo brand of laminate floors?

We do not carry the Pergo brand. We only carry brands with value to our customers. Feature for feature and dollar for dollar Pergo does not offer value or the styling at the prices we require for our customers.

Do your laminate floors require glue at the seams of the planks for installation?

No, glue is not required. The laminate floors are snap and click systems which are installed at a 45 degree angle, which once it is set, locks together giving the floor a tight fit.

Can I remove and reinstall a laminate floor plank if it gets damaged?

Yes, that is one of the great features of glue-less laminate, they are easy to repair, and can be taken up and set back down if necessary. This is due to the glue-less locking tongue and groove as well as the fact that it is a 45 degree angle clicking system.
